The Digital Past Conference, launched in 2009, is an annual two-day conference organised by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales which showcases innovative digital technologies and techniques for recording and understanding the historic environment. Each year this exciting conference brings together between 150 and 175 individuals from the commercial, public, academic, and voluntary sectors, and aims to promote learning, discussion and debate around a range of digital technologies in current use, or in development, to record and understand our heritage.
Digital Past is the ideal opportunity to promote your organisation, network and create new partnerships with delegates and speakers from across the UK as far afield as the USA and Israel. In recent years, the conference has included speakers from Microsoft Research UK, The V&A, V-MUST and Europeana.
In 2017 the conference will have two strands, one based around the technical aspects of survey, data processing and management and archiving, and one focusing on interpretation, engagement and education. The conference will be held on the 15th and 16th February in the Riverfront Theatre, Newport.
Now in its ninth year, the profile of the Digital Past conference has grown year on year. Promoted via the dedicated conference website, which remains online providing long-term reference and information beyond the event, as well as the Royal Commission website and social media feeds including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, the event reaches out far beyond those delegates who attend in person.
Each year the conference attracts a range of sponsors from commercial, academic and public sectors, an aspect which allows organisations and companies to promote their product, services, projects and research and helps ensure that the conference is made as financially open and accessible as possible to all.
We are delighted to be able to now open sponsorship opportunities for the Digital Past Conference 2017. With an expected attendance of some 160-170 people from a wide range of technical, interpretative and educational heritage backgrounds in the commercial, academic, public and third sectors, this is the perfect opportunity to promote your organisation.
We offer three levels of sponsorship: Bronze (£150), Silver (£525) and Gold (£850). Gold packages are limited to a maximum of three sponsors per conference. Benefits include logo placement on the conference webpage and on promotional media both prior to and throughout the event, inclusion in the conference social media output, the inclusion of promotional leaflets in the delegate packs, and promotional banners at the event. Silver and Gold packages also include complimentary registration and exhibition space, making this opportunity outstanding value for money.
