Work Experience

The Royal Commission welcomes work-experience candidates at its offices in Aberystwyth, especially those with a special interest in archaeology, architecture, historical research and archive management.

Placements are normally arranged through schools, higher education institutions, training agencies, professional organisations or Careers Wales, and may be from a week to several months. Students will normally be provided with an introduction to the range of the Commission’s work and then be expected to contribute to a current project fitted to their interests.

There may be opportunities to undertake work such as cataloguing archive collections, dealing with reader enquiries, field survey, illustration or publishing.

Volunteers are also welcomed. Sponsored training placements may be available from time to time. For further information please Contact Us.
