Accessibility: How to Find Us
As part of the Royal Commission’s ongoing commitment to Accessibility, and Equality & Diversity, we have produced a visual and textual, online digital guide on How to Find Us.
The guide can be viewed here https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/how-to-find-us
And is also available as a downloadable pdf document https://rcahmw.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/How-to-Find-Us-1.pdf
Taking account of all the ways in which people access our Offices and Public Library and Search Room – be that by train, bus, car, or on foot – the guide gives clear, detailed descriptions, with accompanying images, of the routes, parking and user facilities available:
By bus https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/how-to-find-us/#link2
By car https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/how-to-find-us/#link1
On foot (also applicable to those arriving in the town by train) https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/how-to-find-us/#link3
Parking, Accessibility and User Facilities https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/accessibility-and-user-facilities
It also provides images and text to show visitors how to find our Library and Public Search Room, once inside the National Library of Wales building:
Via the lift https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/how-to-find-us/#link5
Via the stairs https://rcahmw.gov.uk/services/how-to-find-us/#link6
We hope that, by providing prior visual and written information, our visitors will feel more comfortable when making their first visit to us. For those unfamiliar with archives, entering them for the first time can seem a little intimidating. Hopefully, our Guide will make that a less daunting experience.
To further make, even a first, visiting experience seem more familiar and comfortable we have created a 3D scan of the Library and Search Room
Floor plans are also available
We look forward to welcoming visitors, both old and new: you can be assured of a friendly welcome!
