Community Engagement Officer

Welsh Asian Heritage Project: Celebrating and Archiving the Experiences of Ugandan Asians.

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Community Engagement Officer with experience of working with South Asian communities in Wales to play a key role in delivering the Welsh Asian Heritage Project’s community engagement activities.

Working in partnership with all cultural, language and faith communities is essential for us and we are looking for someone who is comfortable working across all generations whether in a Gurdwara, Mandir or a Mosque as well as in other religious and cultural settings.

As Community Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for developing and sustaining community relationships and for engaging people with lived experience to actively co-produce the project.

Location: The postholder is required to live in or within daily commute to Cardiff and to travel independently across Wales as required. The post is home-based.
The Royal Commission Offices are at Ffordd Penglais, Aberystwyth, SY23 3BU.
Duration: Fixed term appointment to 31st December 2024
Grade: Band C
Starting salary: £28,245 (with annual increments)
Hours: 37 hours per week (we will consider applications from individuals seeking flexible working arrangements)

Closing date: 5pm Sunday, 3rd December 2023.
