8-12 February 2021: Workshops
Digital Past 2021: New Technologies in Heritage, Interpretation and Outreach
For the first time, our regular Digital Past Conference will be a free online event, making it more accessible than ever. Digital Past is the Royal Commission’s successful annual conference which showcases the latest innovative digital technologies in the recording, presentation and interpretation of our heritage in Wales, the UK and beyond.
Instead of the usual two-day event, the 2021 conference will have one day of talks on Wednesday 10 February with workshops held over four days from 8 to 12 February 2021. This makes it even easier to attend the events that particularly interest you from a wide range of talks, discussions, and special workshops.
The themes for the 2021 Conference will be ‘Digital Technology’ and ‘Digital Heritage’, highlighting:
- Virtual access to technology
- Diversity in digital cultural heritage
- Digital heritage, the environment and climate change.
Digital Past brings together enthusiasts from the commercial, public, academic, third and voluntary sectors. The conference aims to promote learning, discussion and debate around a range of digital technologies in current use, or in development, to record and understand the historic environment.
