
Festival of Archaeology
27 July 2016, 7pm–9pm. Festival of Archaeology: Discovering the Archaeology of Pen Dinas Hillfort. Royal Commission archaeologists Toby Driver and Jon Dollery will explore different aspects of Pen Dinas Hillfort and the hillforts of Cardigan Bay, in support of the new project underway by the Penparcau Community Forum. Jon will showcase and explain the latest digital techniques used to visualise the hillfort in the landscape, in a talk called Lights, Camera, Heritage: a Quick Guide to Creating a Heritage Animation. Then Toby will look at the story of Pen Dinas Hillfort and its historic excavations, setting it in the wider context of the Celtic farming communities of Cardigan Bay in his talk, Pen Dinas and the Hillforts of Cardigan Bay. This free event will be held at Penparcau Community Centre (by the park), Penparcau, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion SY23 1RU. A warm welcome is extended to all.
