The Royal Commission’s library and enquiry facilities are located on the first floor (level 0), just before the National Library’s North Reading Room.

If you are driving up on Penglais Hill (A487, from town), the turning for the National Library is located on the right after Bronglais Hospital.

If you are driving down on Penglais Hill (A487), the National Library turning is located on the second left after Aberystwyth University Campus.
Follow the road…
…until you curl around to the right-hand side of the Library building.
The car park is on your right.
Once you have parked the car, walk back to where you came from to the front of the building.
You will see a blue sign with directions.
There’s a foot path leading to the front of the building.
Once you get to the front, you’ll see the Royal Commission sign, plant pots and the front door.
You can access the entrance via steps (on the left) or via a ramp (on the right).
The front door has ‘Mynedfa | Entrance’ written above it.
If you take the bus (03 service) to the Library, you will disembark (and embark) next to the car park. Follow the instructions from the car park above.
If you require step-free access, follow the road all the way around to the right-hand side of the Library building and follow the instructions from the car park above.
If you arrive at the Library on foot, take the steps up from the main road.
The main entrance is on the right-hand side of the building front.
At the second set of steps, go up and follow the steps to the right.
You’ll see the National Library ‘stone’ on your left, then the front door.
You can access the entrance via steps (on the left) or via a ramp (on the right).
The front door has ‘Mynedfa | Entrance’ written above it.
Inside, turn left and go through the rotating doors.
You’ll see the National Library reception on your left.

If you require step-free access, the lift is to your right, next to the corridor towards Café Pen Dinas.

You are on Level -1 or Lower Ground Floor (LG).
The Reading Rooms are on Level 0 or Ground Floor (G). In the lift, press ‘G’.
Coming out of the lift, you’ll see a long corridor with book cases on either side.
Take the first right. There will be a sign to the Reading Rooms.
Follow the red carpet until you reach the staircase, then turn left.
Following the red carpet again, you’ll see two sets of signs above you: 1) ‘The Readers Room’…
…and 2) ‘North Reading Room’ and ‘Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales’.
Go through the doorway and you will find the Royal Commission’s Library and Search Room on your right.

Walk past the National Library shop…
…until you see signs to the Reading Rooms.
Follow the signs and take the first right, through the doors to ‘The Peniarth Room’.
At the end of The Peniarth Room, head up the staircase.
At the top of the staircase, follow the signs to the Reading Rooms and turn right.
Turn right again at the porter’s desk.
Following the red carpet, you will see two sets of signs above you: 1) ‘The Readers Room’…
…and 2) ‘North Reading Room’ and ‘Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales’.
Go through the doorway and you will find the Royal Commission’s Library and Search Room on your right.
