The Research & Education Space – Connecting Publicly Held Collections and Archives to Inspire New Ways of Learning

The Research and Education Space project is a partnership between the BBC, JISC and Learning on Screen aimed at improving the digital resources available at all levels of education. The digital collections of institutions such as The British Museum, The British Library, The National Archives, Europeana, The Wellcome Trust and the BBC are being brought together, indexed and organised in order to make them easier to access and use by those across the education and research sectors.

We are very pleased that Jake Berger, Product Manager at RES, will be part of our Open Data session at Digital Past 2017, explaining the ethos and development of RES as well as the benefits of publishing media online using this platform. Jake will also explain the opportunities available for other organisations to make their material available, and for product developers in utilising the media throughout the heritage education environment.
